Robotic Mowers for Sports Centres: Grants Are Available

Automating the mowing of green spaces with robotic technology is increasingly becoming a concrete goal for owners and managers of green spaces, both private and public.

FAQ

Even though the investment in such technology pays for itself quickly, at least with quality equipment like Belrobotics', it remains a considerable outlay. Be aware that grants exist to help fund the purchase of this type of equipment.

For sports infrastructure, a grant of 75% is possible, rising to 90% if the facility is dedicated to sports practised by people with reduced mobility.
Under this scheme, the following is eligible for funding: professional equipment for maintaining any sports surface and cleaning synthetic sports surfaces. Provided the following objectives are met: improving the sporting quality of playing fields in the Walloon Region, preserving the original performance of the surfaces, extending their initial characteristics over time and ensuring the longevity of the pitches.

This grant is offered by INFRASPORTS, which subsidises the purchase of sports equipment and major maintenance equipment for sports infrastructure.

The grant is open to local authorities, sports clubs, non-profit management associations and schools, provided the latter allow public use of their sports facilities outside school hours.

One application per year may be submitted.
Once the grant has been awarded, the beneficiary must keep the equipment and/or materials in the same use for 10 years from the date they enter service.

You can find more information on the conditions for applying for such a grant on the Walloon Region's website.
